The next Iowa March for Life will take place on June 22, 2024. The Coalition for Life of Iowa will provide a bus for people who want to attend from our area. To sign up for the bus, visit our online store.

Cedar Rapids March for Life
The next Cedar Rapids March for Life was going to take place in June of 2024, rather than in January. However, we decided to help bus people to the Iowa March for Life as described above.
The info below promoted our 2023 march.
Please join us as we March for Life after 50 years of legal abortion on Saturday, January 21. We will meet at St. Matthews Church (2310 1st Ave NE) on the lower level (Kearn Hall).
At 11:00 we will take a group picture, and a send-off prayer will start our March for Life to Planned Parenthood. Once there, we will pray and witness for an end to abortion. The Return March starts at 11:40 back to St. Matthew Church where we will warm up in Kearn Hall, eating some delicious soup. The food is being organized by the Archdiocesan Council of Women. A Program from 12:30-1:00 will feature Dr. Brian Saunders.
Those who are unable to march may drive and join in also. Another option is to join the interfaith prayer service that will be during the march in the St. Matthew Church Kearn Hall from 11:00-12:00.
We will collect disposable diapers, wipes, baby formula, and newborn clothes for distribution to Bridgehaven and Birthright for families that are in need of them.
As always, please dress for the weather, since this activity occurs in winter. The length of the march is exactly one mile each way.

This event usually takes place on the Saturday or Sunday either before or after the Roe v. Wade anniversary. We are grateful that members of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church originated this event, which they let us organize so more people from the entire community can find out about it and participate.
National March for Life
The next National March for Life will take place on Friday, January 20, 2023 in Washington D.C. The National March for Life often draws more than 500,000 pro-lifers. Iowans for LIFE and Dubuque County Right to Life usually lead annual trips to this event. Check with them for details and the deadline for signing up (usually late October or early November). If people aren’t up for a chartered bus ride to Washington D.C. and back or what is typically a 5-day trip, one can always fly out on one’s own.
Itineraries tend to follow the following:
- Bus ride out starting two days before the march
- Arrival in WDC just under one day later
- Optional religious services the evening before
- Pre-march rally
- March for Life ending in front of the U.S. Supreme Court
- Visiting lawmakers
- Checking out the sites in WDC that evening and on a free day
- Bus ride back to Iowa starting the day after the march
- Return in Iowa two days after the march
Midwest March for Life
Iowa Right to Life hosted the Midwest March for Life in Des Moines, Iowa for a few years. It was a great event, but it has not occurred since the one that took place in 2016. If it starts up again, we would love to promote it. It appears the Iowans for Life March for Life may replace it.
